A bright,joyful girl whose journey reminds us that inclusion begins with understanding.
Initially,her parents were filled with fear and uncertainty.Like many families impacted with disabilities, they did not know where to turn to .Through the support of Kuhenza for the Children,they found guidance,acceptance and strength.
Today,Elina is in school,learning,playing and thriving-just like every child deserves.Her smiles are broader and her confidence is growing.Elina’s future is full of possibilities.
This Easter,as she is wrapped in a hug by her friend and playmate at her home,her beautiful smile reminds us that Inclusion is not complicated; its a hug,a hello,showing up,playing together and unconditionally loving and accepting all people.
Moreover,Elina’s father has become a disability advocate in his community.Once unsure,he now refers other children with disabilities to special schools and hospitals .His voice is helping break the stigma while opening doors for many children .
This is the ripple effect of developmental organizations like Kuhenza for the Children-Empowering one family can transform an entire community.
